316 stainless steel is a higher grade stainless steel that does not rust. It is exceptionally strong and durable. Certain elements of Nixed products cannot be made with precious metals as they are softer metals and will break or bend easily in a self-defence scenario.

No. Plated jewellery is prone to tarnishing. We have only used solid metals.

That is entirely up to you. We have found that when the pendant hangs on the flat part of your chest, it is easier to access. However, the difference is minimal. Choose a length that is comfortable for you.
